Gun question

Anybody out there have any experience with Howa rifles?

I'm looking for a .22-250 for some long-range plinking (already have one, love the caliber, want another one...).

Was looking at a Ruger #1, but called a friend at another local shop, and he wants me to come take a look at a Howa he has on the shelf. I know that's the same action Weatherby uses. It has a Hogue rubberized stock, and the price is a lot better than the Ruger.

Like I said, the dealer is a friend of mine, and he wouldn't intentionally steer me towards a crap gun. I'm headed out totake a look at it soon, just wondered if anyone has any personal experience and can give me some input. Thanks.

I haven't owned one so no I don't have personal experience but I believe they are a Japanese firm that built Weatherby, S&W and other specialty brands over the years. They have a fairly decent reputation for produciing a good rifle. You might alos check out Tika (a sako by another name)

I'd look into a 10/22 Ruger for 'plinking' if 22-cal is your choice.

The 10/22 has countless parts available and lots of hi-capicty mags.

Go with the No. 1. When it comes to firearms, I always pay a little more for known quality.

Re: Gun question

Howa's ARE Weatherby's. OK, not really, but let me explain that statement.

They are made on the same line in the same factory in Japan as the Weatherby's are. Pretty much from the same design. Pretty much the same rifle. But you don't pay for the name.

That's HOWA. Good rifle. Great shooters. If you can find one in good shape at a good price, jump on it.

You will NOT be disappointed.

Legacy also carries Howa.
From my research I have seen only great things about the sercice from the people at Legacy...

I feel very confident buying anything from these guys....
